Ranbir Kapoor wants to team up with ex girlfriend over Koffee With Karan

The moment he stepped into Bollywood, the casanova tag got attached to Ranbir Kapoor’s name. After all, he does have a long list of ex-girlfriends and rumoured affairs in the past.
Anyway, the latest we hear is that Ranbir Kapoor is keen on teaming with ex girlfriends Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor, yet again for the fourth season of the popular chat show, Koffee With Karan.
It is no secret that Deepika and Sonam, while on the same chat show, ridiculed Ranbir Kapoor, so much that Deepika’s condom statement went on to become controversial too. While RK’s parent were super pissed, Ranbir handles the situation with much maturity.
As of now, all is well between Ranbir and Deepika. The duo have acted in the blockbuster film Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, and are yet to cast in another rom com, soon.
If RK and DP come together in the chat show, this will be an interesting one for sure.
Meanwhile, we will do some more research as to why the Kapoor lad wants to team up with the girls.

WHAT! Hrithik Roshan and Sussane heading for a divorce

Once upon a time, they were considered the most lovable and strongest couple in Bollywood. But today, all is not well in Hrithik Roshan and his beautiful wife Sussanne Roshan’s paradise. And the annoying part is that the reason behind the rumoured tension between the duo is unknown.
Rumormongers say that, Hrithik Roshan is super pissed with his wife and the couple might sooner than later file for a divorce. Not very long ago, we had reported about Sussanne’s blink and miss appearance at her father-in-law Rakesh Roshan’s birthday party. Apparently, the star wife also avoided clicking with the Roshan family and was missing from the family portrait.
Rumors also have it that her late appearance at the party might be because of her dad’s sudden illness.
While the duo has been living separately for the past one week now, sons, Hrehaan and Hridhaan are staying with their father Hrithik.
Says a source close to the family, “Yes, Sussanne is living at her parents’ place since the past week. But there is no problem between her and Hrithik. Her father is really unwell and she is staying there to spend time with him. The Khans do not want unnecessary attention over his illness and have asked their close friends to respect their privacy.”
It is said that Hrithik’s “out of the home interests” have not gone down well with Suzanne, and hence all this brouhaha.
We hope, soon things get settled between the charming couple and they get together again.
Meanwhile, as of yesterday this was Hrithik’s food for thought on Twitter:
“Just a thought – Your life is less about you and more about the people around u who love you!”
From this thought, we are guessing, our superhero is trying his best to get things back on track!

Salman Khan Productions to launch with Hero remake

Salman Khan has launched his own production company, Salman Khan Productions, with a slate of three films. First up will be a remake of Subhash Ghai’s 1983 hit Hero for which Ghai will also compose the music. Sunil Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty will star alongside Aditya Pancholi’s son Suraj Pancholi, who was in the news not so long ago for being questioned, jailed and then ultimately released in the aftermath of Jiah Khan/Nafisa Khan’s suicide in suspicious circumstances.
Also in the works is a Hindi remake of 2012 Punjabi hit Jatt & Juliet, a co-production with nasal crooner and composer and failed actor Himesh Reshammiya’s company HR Musik Ltd. The film will introduce new faces to Bollywood screens.
Puneet Issar, who debuted as a director with the 2004 hit Garv: Pride and Honour, starring Salman, and then made the execrable I Am Singh that released to scant audiences in 2011, will direct Salman again in an untitled period piece under the star’s banner. Issar of course will remain etched in Bollywood history for inadvertently delivering the near-fatal blow to Amitabh Bachchan on the sets of Manmohan Desai’s Coolie that had a nation praying for the megastar’s recovery. Issar’s wife, whatever her name is, is no slouch in the blows stakes, having administered a few to an NRI who did not stand up for the National Anthem at a cinema. Blows and Adita Pancholi are synonymous, but as he is too easy a target we shall spare him.
The Hero remake will begin shooting in November. Salman already has a production house Being Human Productions that debuted in 2011 with Vikas Bahl and Nitesh Tiwari’s Chillar Party. Being Human Productions was set up to make films with a social message and since normally a Salman film’s only social message is ‘leave your brains’ at home, is perhaps why the star set up a separate production house.
Now that Salman has his own production house, we wonder whether he will continue acting in his brothers Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan’s in-house productions. All of Salman’s contemporaries, including arch rival Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn have their own production houses that have been adding to their already bulging coffers for years.
Meanwhile, those who can’t wait for Salman’s forthcoming magnum operas No Entry Mein Entry, Mental, Kick and Gabbar are no doubt getting their daily fix of their god on Bigg Boss 7.

Will Dhoom:3, Krrish 3, Mental break Chennai Express’ box office records?

Shahrukh Khan’s romcom directed by Rohit Shetty and co-starring Deepika Padukone smashed box office records and set cash registers clanging. His arch-rivals Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan are now geared up to break the Baadshah’s supremacy with their own releases. What are the five essential components that will make sure that these big budget films create hungama at the BO?

The stage is set. The battle lines are drawn. It just doesn’t get bigger than this. After Chennai Express, Krrish 3, Dhoom:3 and Mental are lining up for release. Which one will get the bigger share of the money pie and the tag of ‘record-holder’? Considering the plethora of big banner, big budget, big starcast films set to release in the coming months, film buffs certainly can’t ask for more fun that will rock the turnstiles!
With such an impressive line-up of Hindi films – Krrish 3, Dhoom:3 and Besharam are set to release during Diwali and Christmas and Mental projected for Republic Day (January 26) 2014 – this year might just become as the most lucrative ever. But 2013 could well be the year with maximum Rs 100 crore grossers, with Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express (CE) topping the charts (Rs 216.86 crores according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh), followed by Ranbir Kapoor’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Abbas Mustan’s Race 2 and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The King Khan has once again proved his worth at the box office with CE‘s humongous success, breaking the record set by Aamir’s 3 Idiots. And the Perfectionist actor is all set to reclaim the title with Dhoom:3, which he is confident will overtake CE by a mile.
And how can King Khan’s re-new-found friend Salman be far behind? For the last few years Sallu’s films have been doing record business and setting higher monetary standards for his competitors. “I know his (SRK) film broke all my records. I’m looking forward to break all the new records, be it Aamir’s Dhoom:3 or Ranbir’s next film (Besharam),” he said. Considering Sallu’s repertoire for the next year – Mental, Kick and Prabhu Deva’s next – the superstar could break his own records than that of others!
As Taran Adarsh said, “The silver screen is all set to adorn a golden glow. Previous records will be shattered and new records will be set.” We spoke to exhibitor-distributor Akshaye Rathi to check which of these films – Krrish 3, Dhoom:3, Mental and Besharam – is most likely to beat Chennai Express at the BO…
Buzz, publicity and marketing:
While Krrish 3 & Dhoom:3 have generated tremendous buzz purely on the merit of their first teasers and are sure to open to phenomenal numbers, it’s still too early to say anything about Kick, since no promotional material / promo is out yet. However, it is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films of 2014 and it will be spilling out of people’s ears when it is about to release. As for Besharam, the coming together of the star of Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and the director of Dabangg Abhinav Kashyap in itself is a big deal and is bound to get a huge chunk of moviegoers excited. Sadly though, the promotions (at least so far) have lacked the teeth and edge that a film with stakes as big ought to have. After the benchmark that SRK has set with the promotions of Chennai Express, these big budget films need to at least match it, if not surpass it to stand out.
Satellite rights:
The satellite rights of each one of these films will sell for great numbers because of the stars these films feature. Besides, all these films belong to satellite friendly genres, so there’s no reason why they won’t rake in big money for their TV rights.
Actors’ popularity (Salman, Aamir, Shahrukh and Ranbir Kapoor) – domestic and overseas:
While Salman Khan is the king of the masses, SRK’s popularity is beyond any other actor’s in the overseas markets. Salman’s core audience floods the single screen cinemas across India, like Rajinikanth’s fans do down South when his films release, while SRK stands at positions 1 to 5 in the overseas markets and then the others come by. Ranbir Kapoor has struck a good balance between the two with Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and enjoys a good following in the domestic and overseas markets – the prince of both, just a notch below the respective kings!
Aamir Khan is a hugely popular star, but the business of his films depends on the appeal of his films more than his core fan following. So while with a 3 Idiots he broke through the Rs 200 crores mark, a Talaash or a Dhobi Ghat didn’t come anywhere close. Dhoom:3 should showcase his star power in a huge way…
Number of screens:
It’s still too early to judge the number of screens that these films will release in, but with the benchmark that Chennai Express has set, each one should aspire to go beyond it to ensure the huge openings that it deserves.
Ticket price:
I don’t believe that hiking ticket prices is the best solution to multiplying business. What needs to be seen is the fact that 3 Idiots had among the highest footfalls for films in recent times, but was watched by only about 2 percent of India’s population! The idea should be to find ways to increase the count of people who come to watch films at the cinemas, rather than charge the ones who come, a higher amount.

Kareena Kapoor: Gori Tere Pyaar Mein completely for masses

The first look of Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan-starrer Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is out, and the actress says the movie is totally for the masses.

She says unlike the 2012 film Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, which saw Kareena and Imran on screen for the first time, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is filled with item songs and has a fun quotient about it.

Asked about the experience of working with Imran again, Kareena said: "I think it has been great because I did Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu with Imran. It was so special. It was slightly English, it was not for the masses, it was a classy film. But this is completely the opposite and is mad."

"It has three to four item songs and it is what everybody would like. I think it is going to be fun. I saw the trailer and (my husband) Saif (Ali Khan) saw the trailer too. He thinks it is fun," she added.

The 32-year-old spoke at the launch of the new version of the Filmfare magazine. Its new edition features her on the cover.

Meanwhile, the trailer of Gori Tere Pyaar Mein was launched on Tuesday, September 10. Two posters of the film were released on September 8.

Directed by Punit Malhotra, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is a Karan Johar production. It will release on November 22.
